Person of the Week: Eli Boardman

If you live in South Boulder, than you may know of Eli and what he is known for.

Eli is an 11 year old boy who founded his own newspaper, the Boardman Camera, and is the solo writer, editor, reporter, illustrator, ads rep, delivery boy, and manager.  He started his paper when he was 6 years old and this past week he celebrated his 5th year anniversary and 200th edition!

That's quite an accomplishment for an 11yr old but when asked WHY he did it, he said he wanted to 'build community'.  Eli said he would always see his neighbors but didn't know anything about them.  So he created a newspaper and wrote about his neighborhood, the people in it, and what they were doing.  He even hand delivers it to his customers door.

Eli currently has over 200 customers that he delivers his newspaper to via foot, car, mail, and email.  And after establishing his 200th issue, Eli has not intention of stopping and looking forward to writing next week's issue.
