'PC EXPRESS, the fastest name in quality computer repair'

PC Express, the fastest name in quality computer repair, is owned and operated by the one and only Andrew Bottolfson.  PC Express is small independent PC repair shop that can take care of all of your PC needs.
Andrew has had the store up in running at 2789 Iris Ave in Boulder for the past few years and has helped hundreds of in-need customers get back up and moving.  His store is nestled in a corner of the shopping complex but do not let the looks be mis-leading.  Andrew's unorthodoxed shop is a hot bed of innovation.  Owning and Operating the shop himself you may wonder how he has time for all of the business?  He's a magician.  Honestly, I have never met someone who knows more about computers then Andrew and when he's working on them he is operating on a handful at a time.

I was recommended by a friend to PC Express and took my Dell XPS 1530 and XPS M1710 in last week.  One needed a tune-up and one needed to be diagnosed for a bad hard-drive.  Andrew was on the phone with another client while he was able to run the diagnostics on both computers and within about 15 minutes was able to tell what the problem was with both machines, give me a prices, and a deadline of when he will have it done.  I admit I was skeptical the first time I walked into his store but he fixed up my machines, fixed them up on time and they working like brand new.

So if your in the need for a tune-up, need hard-drive replaced, or a system update, stop by PC Express or give Andrew a call, 303.443.7090, for all you PC needs.

Thanks again Andrew!

Person of the Week: 'Mrs. Liz Bowes-Spigel'

Liz is our person of the week for her outstanding community involvement.  She donates a lot of time and effort to local organizations and hosts fundraisers to help improve the life of many Boulderites.

Liz and her family have lived in Boulder for quite a while.  She jokes that when they moved to Boulder from Florida Canyon was a dirt road.  She is a product of the DU education system with a degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a licensed architect.  Liz has been a part of Bowes Spiegel Architects and Project Managers since they were founded in 1986 and have completed many architectural projects from office, hotels, homes, and additions all over Colorado and Utah.  Liz says, 'It is extremely satisfying for her to complete a project which people enjoy for many years to come.'  Bowes Spiegel has donated their services over the years to all sorts of projects around town, such as new dug-outs at Scott Carpenter Par, the reception remodel at Mental Health Center the Boulder Valley Women's Clinic.

Liz is the proud mother of two sons and says she has a soft spot for teenagers, which is the drive for her service to the community.  In her spare time she volunteers at the YWCA and Attention Homes.  These organizations focus on helping dis-advantaged teens and provide not only food and shelter for teens, but guidance to become productive community members.  If you are unaware there are over 200 homeless teens on the streets of Boulder and Liz and youth organizations are currently working on an addition to the to the Attention Homes' Broadway House to be able to accommodate more teens and serve more warm meals, housing, Internet use, showers, etc.  Aside from being deeply involved with dis-advantaged teens, Liz has also been a Victim's Advocate for the BPD for almost 2 years as a mediator.

I want to thank Liz for everything she does for the Boulder community and want to help spread awareness for Attention Homes and hope that who ever reads this becomes inspired to give back and be a part of something bigger.

Liz, you are an inspiration.  We appreciate everything you do for our community!

'Christina's Luxuries' for that Special Someone

Valentines Day is almost here, have you picked something up for your special someone?  If you haven't, you should stop on by Christina's Luxuries, on the corner of Folsom and Canyon.

In spirit of Valentines Day I went over to Christina's to get the scoop on what they have to offer and what the hot selling items are for the big day.  I talked with the wonderful staff/owner Barbara Wilson who is the third generation owner.  They have been open since 1979 and have sat on the corner of Folsom for the last 23 years!  Barbara says they have something for every woman, young and old.  They carry lingerie, dresses, and swimsuits.  Her motto is 'anyone who loves beauty and beautiful things loves Christinas'.  The popular items for Valentines day have been sleeping apparel and neon-colored bras.

I will admit, as a man, it was a little intimidated walking into a women's luxury store, but the wonderful staff made me feel very welcome.  In fact Barbara said the majority of customers this past week have been men. The staff is very helpful too, they can help you find the perfect give, and the right size, for you special someone.

Christina's is more that a woman's luxury store, they are very involved in the community.  A percentage of all of their sales is donated to local charities.  As well Christina's has been recognized by the community as 'Best in Boulder- Clothing and Lingerie' year after year.  Barbara says they are more than just a lingerie store, they are 'casual dressy' and have clothes for the Boulder lifestyle.

Hurry in today, the clock is ticking!

Person of the week: ‘Licious Organics’ owner, Lauri-Rae Wirichs

Entrance to Honey HIve areaI had the pleasure to meet the owner and founder of Licious Organics Lauri Wirichs, the other day and was turned on by her delicious cookies.  Lauri and Licious Organics make raw cookies out of home grown honey.  Thats right, Lauri is the pround mother of thousands of bees that make the deLICIOUS honey that she uses in her raw cookies.

About Lauri:  Lauri is a Boulder native and has grown up with the ways of Boulder her entire life.  After traveling around the country for a few years, she settled back to Boulder with an idea, to start her own business.  With her tenacious and entropreneurship desires, Lauri didn't waste any time working on her dream.  After a few weeks of trial and error, Licious Organics and raw cookies came to be.  Her vision of the company is to take lead of the green movement and make a 100% organic product, meaning all food ingredients are pesticide free and additive free, as well the packaging is made from from a non-GMO, 100% compostable alternative to plastic.  Pretty neat concept.  She is also looking to expand her product to outside of Boulder County and spread her delicious treats.

So next time your out grocery shopping, support local companies like Licious Organics, you can find them at any local Whole Foods Market, Lucky’s Market, Alfalfa’s Market, Sunflower Farmer’s Market, and Online.  Visit Lauri and Liciousorganics online at:  liciousorganics.com

'Snooze Eatery'

Don’t feel like making breakfast this morning?  Out of eggs?  Then slip on down to 16th and Pearl and stop by Snooze!

If you haven’t heard of Snooze, that’s because they have only been in Boulder for a few months.  Prior to opening in Boulder they we’re founded in Denver, then branched out to Fort Collins and Boulder.  Snooze is an all breakfast joint that opens from 7am-3pm, all breakfast all the time.  Its fun and inviting atmosphere keeps the mood light for your morning meal.  But don’t be surprised when you see the lights in the kitchen go out and the disco ball start spinning, it’s a normal practice at Snooze.  The staff likes to have fun and tries to kick off your day with a healthy meal and excellent service.

Speaking of healthy, Snooze has taken the local spin on their products, trying to buy local and organic wherever they can.  They support local farms/producers, such as; Grant Family Farms, Morning Fresh Dairy, and Niman Ranch.  Snooze tries to stay away from processed foods and prides them selves on serving ‘All Natural’ meats.

Sounds good, so what do they serve?  They have a seasonal menu to keep things changing but they serve just about any breakfast combo you can think of.  Eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, breakfast wraps, etc.  You want it, they have.  Right now their special is Pineapple Upside Down and Cherry Bourbon Pancakes.  They even have a liquor license and brew their own vodka mixes, currently on the shelf is a peppered vodka and a carrot vodka.

Not only is Snooze devoted to working with local farmers, but they also donate 1% of their sales to local charities such as; I Have A Dream and the GROWE foundation.  They even have competitions within their Colorado locations for being ‘green’.  Every month they tally up how many employees walked/biked/bussed to work and the winning location wins a small prize.  They even went green for the building too.  They are LEED certified and are working towards a sustainable business, re-use and re-cycle!

So next time you don’t feel like making breakfast, stop on by and fill up with Snooze.
Want to know more, look them up at http://www.snoozeeatery.com/.
